Edinburgh Impressions

Living in Edinburgh...

...why not, the town is all but dull after all.

Historic, sometimes 'not easy to read'...

Off the luxury of Princess and George Street...

... you find them...

...the small shops, quaint, poor, and sometimes vacant.

But wealth is not all...

...and all the shallow glitter of the shopping malls is just shallow.

This however is genuine...

and filled with history.

You can't get your fill...

...walking the streets for hours.

All these quaint little shops...

...are worth taking a look...

...rummage or stop for a coffee.

Old but proven.

Time witnesses and memories of better days...

...dark passages.

Remote...

...sometimes glum, sometimes colourful...

...also in the streets...

...and in the shops.

Often appealing and smart...

...inviting...

...never pushy...

...old...

...and beautiful.

When once we have to leave Edinburgh again, Neil takes us to a field outside the town. It reminds of the 'Bloody Saturday' on September 10th, 1547. Since the day when Scottish troops were defeated by a by far outnumbering enemy, the crop of this field never is harvested before September 10th every year.
